Here's my question for all of you, I've recently been attached to a unit who happens to be a year behind on scheduled services. From gathering information from those who have been here for some time I've tried gathering intelligence as to why it is this way. If you ask the Senior personnel, it is due to their recent switch from SAMS-E to GCSS-A which jacked the service schedule up. From the Soldiers and my peers they say it's all of the "mommy, daddy" games. One NCO will tell you to do one thing then another will come pull you from that task according to what they want to see done. What I'm looking for is advice on how to advise them to catch up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
This is how they had it set up upon my arrive:
There was a NCO accountable for every company in the BN to include specialty shops (GSE, C&E and Armament). They handled the unscheduled maintenance as well upcoming services due. The unit had also enacted a service team comprised of 1 NCO and 10 soldiers where their sole mission was to focus on overdue services.
Recently BN has not liked the output of the motor pool so they decided to have some influence and pushed our BMO to make the change to a scheduled service side, and an unscheduled service where they have gotten rid of the specialty shops and put them in the mix as well. This has seemed to push more chaos into the motor pool and has caused more confusion than productivity.
Again, any help or input would be greatly appreciated.
