We have a truck in the shop that had a new engine installed 8 months ago. The truck was used for Annual training in Aug 2018 and a fault for the rear diff leaking was found. The truck sat in the motorpool awaiting parts since September. One of my mechanics went to bring it in to complete the work and the engine wouldn't crank. After the initial normal diagnostics they found water(not coolant) in the oil pan, Turbo, and Cylinders. The only thing we can think that rationally makes sense is that the water leaked in through the intake hat rubber hose that goes to the Turbo inlet. Has anyone got any ideas? Again it is not coolant it is pure water. Thank You for any other ideas.
